Oh blimey! I finally managed to translate a "slightly" older interview with Ville out of the Swedish Slitz magazine. Hampus Petersson had an interesting talk with the HIM frontman, have a read!
Sorry for the delay & yet another apology it still takes me a while to translate the other interviews and articles from all those German mags! Shame on me, I know. Anyways, there you go now.

HIM frontman is spilling the beans!

We are talking with Ville Valo.


HIM is synonymous with the Heartagram. Where did you get the idea?
– I grew up with metal and hard rock and the visual has always been an important part of this music. Whitesnake with their worm, Led Zeppelin with their Zeppelin, Iron Maiden with their monster Eddie. I had been thinking about creating this cool symbol for a couple of years and among many other good things it just came to me. It’s like I was struck by the lightning and I knew what to do immediately. It was my first and last Einstein-moment.

You've said that you’re the only band who is more known for their symbol than the music. Does this upset you or is it just a fact?
– It’s not a fact; no one has observed it yet. A lot of people like the symbol without knowing it belong to HIM. I believe that the Heartagram is not only a symbol of the band. In a few words, the symbol shows that you like a good life.

The American skater and Jackass-member Bam Margera has nearly adopted the symbol. How did you get to know him?
– He stole it! Bam is a thief and murderer.

Du har sagt att ni är det enda bandet som är mer känt för sin symbol än för sin musik. Irriterar det dig eller är det bara ett faktum?
– Det är inte faktum, ingen har studerat det än. Men det finns många som har fattat tycke för symbolen utan att just då veta att den hör till HIM. Samtidigt anser jag själv att hjärtogrammet inte bara är en symbol för bandet. Kort och gott visar symbolen att man lever ett gott liv.

Den amerikanske skejtaren och Jackass-medlemmen Bam Margera har närmast adopterat symbolen. Hur träffade ni honom?
– Han stal den! Bam är en tjuv och mördare.

Also the forums need a whole work up... I'm working on the layouts and I think (and hope, actually haha) the message boards should be online anytime soon! I really hope you guys will register then and we can build up a huge & loving Ville fan community! lol.

Oh my darlings, oh my darlings... I coincidentally stumbled upon this lovely picture of Ville and Bam from the Ruisrock festival! Bam had been there with his crew, of course, filming Ville on stage. Whatelse would he do there!?! haha.

today I'm extremely proud to show you all this wonderful new layout here on Ville Valo Online! =) Thanks a billion times to Tathy for this amazing layout... I absolutely love it! Haha.

As for Ville... just recently HIM played a free gig in Germany! A live story about that "special gig" will be online soon. Maybe I can also manage to scan the article! But I'm not sure if my scanner works properly at the moment; will do my best anyways! (Also will I try to translate the latest interviews with Ville from some German magazines soon... I know, I promised before to do that asap- but at the moment I'm really stressed out! Sorry for that! _._)
Ville today is playing Ruisrock... Hope everyone of you that is going enjoys it! =)
